ABOUT BERGEN PUBLIC LIBRARY

You will also find the opening hours of the main library and the branch libraries, and a list of staff members.

WHAT IS THE NET LIBRARY ?

The net library is the public service on the Internet of the Bergen Public Library (BOB). The bibliographical information and services are based upon the material and the personnel of the BOB. It comprises tradional library services available on-line, new material produced for the net library, mailbox for opinions and enquiries, and an offer, somewhat limited, of reference services rendered via E-mail.
The net library will be under constant growth and development regarding bibliographical data, links to useful sources on the net, self-produced material, various services, and self-service options.

The net library has been developed 1997-98 with support from the Norwegian Directorate for Public Libraries, the Norwegian Council for Cultural Affairs and the artist Gerhard Stoltz has given it form.

MULTILINGUAL RESOURCES

Bergen Public Library offers books and other material in about 30 languages.

On the web pages for multilingual collections you may have a look at the books and other material the library offers in various languages. In addition you will find what material the library contains about some of the countries where the languages are spoken.

THE NET LIBRARY has, in co-operation with the Western Norway Branch of The Norwegian Writers' Agency produced a presentation of the Agency's members, their books and the services they offer:
